My dad, my friend and I were bored on my birthday, looking for stuff to do online. My dad had seen an archery place on his way to work, but he never got around going and trying it. Why not it’s something to do and I have always wanted to try would be archery. I really don’t know why, it’s just something that seemed fun to do. It was actually fun to do, until the bow’s string rubbed against my dad’s arm so much that it created a bump on his arm that looks like another muscle growing off his arm when he flexed it.

On my 15th birthday my dad took my friend and I to Archery Country, an indoor archery facility located off Research Blvd. You can rent bows for $10 an hour so that’s what we did. The “muscle’ that can grow off your arm can be prevented by a cover that you can buy or wearing long sleeves. Which is what I did, and I also bent my arm some so the bow wouldn’t do that to me, but my dad wasn’t so lucky. Although he was wearing long sleeves he pulled his sleeves up to hopefully help with his aim. He was really good at it too, unlike me where I missed the target a lot and hit the iron beams that were places next to the target.

The archery range was really cramped up with a lot of people in it; they were really specific on how they did things there too. After all the arrows would run out for everyone, one person would call “pull,” which was the signal for everyone to go get all their arrows that they had shot. Our hour was almost up, so we could only go through one more round of arrows. I had shot the arrows that I could shoot, and my friend had the last arrow to shoot before we had to go. On that round we hadn’t gotten so luck on out shots, half of the time we couldn’t get our bow positioned right to ever attempt at shooting the arrow. Everyone was waiting on her to go pull their arrows, so she gave up and just said pull.

Archery country was really fun and inexpensive, even though I didn’t get one bull’s-eye. I definitely want to go back; maybe I will can get better at my aim, and finally get a bulls-eye.  I would recommend it to everyone, but when you go there make sure to wear long sleeves.
