On March 23, a Hays ISD school bus collided head on with a concrete truck, resulting in the deaths of 5-year-old Ulises Rodriguez and 33-year-old Ryan Wallace. 

Wallace was weeks away from completing his dissertation presentation, according to his family. Wallace was a doctoral candidate at the School of Journalism and Media at the University of Texas at Austin. 

UT Journalism professor Kathleen McElroy has launched a GoFundMe to help Wallace’s family.

Rodriguez Montoya was a pre-K student at Tom Green Elementary School. 

There is a GoFundMe to help assist the family in funeral expenses.
