The Speech and Debate team won four awards when they competed at the Salado tournament, Dec. 15. Brandy Giordano finished first and Rachel Sloan took fifth in prose interpretation. Brianna Rood finished fourth place and Matthew South was sixth in Poetry interpretation.

“It being my first time and not knowing what to expect it gave me a wave of confidence,” South said. “We weren’t at our peak. So that just gives us a lot of confidence for the next meet.”

The Speech and Debate team will compete at their next tournament, Jan. 19.
