For $5, Teachers can Wear Jeans and Help a Good Cause

Teachers can wear blue jeans all week March 7-11 for a good cause. The sixth annual Jeans for a Week fundraiser will grant a wish for 4-year-old Ella from Cedar Park. Ella, who was diagnosed with leukemia, wants to go to Disney World and meet Mickey Mouse.

“The donation is a great help, the more donations we get the closer we are to our goal,” Dean of Instruction/Transition Coordinator Debbie Gauna said.

Jeans for a Week is an annual fundraising event held by the LISD High School Student Councils for all LISD employees in coordination with the Make-a-Wish Foundation. For a $5 donation, teachers can wear jeans from March 7-11.

“My oldest daughter is a 20-year cancer survivor, we went through the Make-A-Wish foundation and it’s a privilege for anyone,” Administrative Assistant Diane Daycock said.
