Team ends Volleypalooza with a Hit
Their energy level remained high, despite the fact they played three games almost back-to-back each day, for a 3-day period. Lady Raider volleyball players gave it their all during the state’s second largest volleyball tournament last weekend, and were rewarded for their efforts.
Senior Kathy Manning said her favorite game of the 64-team contest was the seventh game they played against Waco-Midway, and the first round of the gold-bracket competition.
“We played with a lot of heart,” she said. “We persevered over a tough team by hustling and staying focused.”
Manning said the tournament was a good measure of the level in which the team is currently playing.
“It helped reinforce to us that we can do phenomenal things this season,” she said. “Our team worked hard throughout the entire tournament and finishing fourth out of more than 60 schools was the best our program has ever finished.”
