English STAAR testing March 29, 31
Testers will not break for lunch until after testing completed
March 28, 2016
Freshmen and sophomores will take the English STAAR tests March 29 and March 31. The English I test is Tuesday and the English II test Thursday. All testing room assignments will be posted in the cafeteria, outside the library and by the front trophy case.
The tests are five hours in length and students are required to stay in their testing room until all regular testing is completed. Testers will not take lunch until after the five-hour testing period is completed, expected to be around 2 p.m. Students are encouraged to eat a healthy breakfast and bring snacks to eat during the testing.
Students not testing will be on their regular lunch schedule. Testers will attend a fourth lunch.
Administration recommends students not bringing a cell phone or other electronic device into the testing room. Electronic devices that are brought into the testing rooms, including cell phones, Kindle readers, Apple & Samsung Smart watches, etc. will be taken up from the students and kept securely at the front of the room during the test. The devices will be returned to the students when the testing time is completed.
Students are encouraged to bring a book to read after they are done testing. Textbooks and magazines are not allowed by testing regulations.
There will be no Advocate on March 29 and 31 because of testing.
