Seven million protesters took part in “No Kings” protest against President Donald Trump’s policies on Saturday. Protestors held signs that read “Make America Kind Again” and “Save Free Speech.” 27,000 events took place nationwide and in major cities like New York, Miami, Washington D.C. and Los Angeles.
Police stood along the sidelines, helicopters flew in the air, but no protest-related arrest was made. According to nokings.org, protests are to be peaceful and remain peaceful. “This isn’t just politics. It’s democracy versus dictatorship. And together, we’re choosing democracy.”
Texas Governor Gregg Abbott drew in the National Guard, but according to No Kings organization, it is a peaceful protest to comply with the First Amendment, and organizers stated all events are non-violent.
Allies of Trump accused the protesters of being associated with the far-left Antifa movement, and some accused of attempting to start violence in order to counterprotest the movement.
When asked about the protest Trump said the protesters are “a joke” and “not representative of the country.”
Late Saturday, Trump posted an AI video on TruthSocial with himself wearing a crown, flying in a plane and dropping feces onto protesters. Congress and Trump allies waved it off and defended him.
“I’m not a king,” Trump said to reporters aboard Air Force One. “I work my ass off to make our country great.”
