Students that went to this year’s Visual Arts Scholastic Event in Round Rock created original artworks, went through an interview process and had their work critiqued and scored by a local juror.

Jessica Thomas “The Rose”- Award of Excellence
Joanna Casso “Outer Ocean”- Superior Rating
Ariana Sevilla “Satrundomas”- Superior Rating and “The Demon Came for Lunch”-Superior Rating,
Heather Woodworth “Frustration”-Superior Rating
Christina Marshall “Psychadelic Peacock”- Superior Rating
Gaby Verastegui “A Picture’s Worth a Thousand Words”-Superior Rating
The students work will be displayed soon in an upcoming art show to help celebrate National Youth Art Month in March. “Im extremely excited and proud for the students, the visual arts event is the closest thing to UIL for them,” art teacher, Cynthia Acevedo said.
