Located in Austin, Mikado Ryotei is a sushi and tapas bar. It was my first time trying sushi, and I was very impressed. From the romantic atmosphere, to the wonderful sushi and soup, Mikado Ryotei seemed to have everything I would look for in a restaurant.

The service was wonderful, and my waitress was extremely patient with me as I tried to pronounce the peculiar names on the menu. She helped me pick out some good first-timer sushi choices, and I have to say, they were delicious. The California roll had just the right amount of avocado and the crab and masago were in perfect balance with each other. The miso soup was decadent and sweet. The green onions and tofu added a veggie twist and the seaweed gave the soup an organic taste.

Needless to say, Mikado Ryotei is the perfect place to go if you’re looking for a great place to eat some good sushi. They have a variety of foods ranging from soups to sushi to vegetarian friendly dishes, different ways to mix up the meals and they regularly update their menu Most food ranges from $5-50, but it is definitely worth every single penny.
