Nickels for Nails

Habitat for Humanity has started their Nickels for Nails Drive to fund the next Leander Habitat House. If anyone is interested in donating, contact the sponsor Robert Snyder and he will bring a money collection vessel, so teachers can be the one who receive donations. Students can also bring donations by his room 1401.

Contributing to this house will make a major impact on a family who lives here in Leander, which not only benefits them, but because now people can know that they have helped the family who needs a home. Doing this home in Leander, and not somewhere far away, allows the club to have the opportunity to make a direct impact on someone who lives really close.

“Students should contribute because they have a care about homelessness or they want to help a family in need in the Leander area,” Snyder said.

Many donations are needed for this build because the progress on the home was postponed due to funds, so donations are very important to this build. The sooner the student body raises the money, the sooner the home can be built and given to the family.

“The Leander build has been put on hold, because of a loss of $40,000 in funds,” Mr. Snyder said. “They were supposed to start in April, but now they’re projected to start in August.”
