Trick or Treat Etiquette

Trick+or+Treat+Etiquette

  • Costumes are the key to Halloween, so have an awesome costume, but make sure not to have it too vulgar. Let’s keep the young minds pure.
  • Trick or treating usually happens at night, so make sure you have a bright costume or at least bring a flashlight. I’m pretty sure getting hit by a car was not part of your nightly plans.
  • When you’re asking for candy, don’t be rude and just hold your bag out. Make eye contact and say “Trick or Treat!”
  • Saying “Trick or Treat!” is pretty obvious, but after you should always say, “Thank you.”
  • Pranks seem to be a major part of Halloween fun, but that’s a very stupid idea. Egging someone’s house is disgusting; what of you woke up and had nasty, smashed egg on the side of your house?
  • And to add something about pranks, TP-ing someone’s trees is rude and really hard to clean up. Unless you want to help them clean it up the next morning, I advise that you use your brain and not do it.
