For the first time in school history, the varsity volleyball team qualified for playoffs.

“This year the team is senior heavy,” senior Haley Hutchinson said. “It’s really awesome to know that we all played great together and led the team to playoffs.”

Going into their final two matches, the Raiders were tied for fourth place. At Cedar Ridge, the team won in four games, moving into a tie for third.

“I would say that it was probably one of the most intense games we’ve played the whole season,” senior Peyton Planchard said. “The fourth set was definitely the craziest for us.”

The team closed district with a win over Stony Point Tuesday, keeping them tied for third place in district.

“We’ve made some history as far as the volleyball program is concerned,” coach Jacob Thompson said.

The team plays Westlake in the first round at Leander Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
