RRADD hosts spirit days for Red Ribbon Week

Having spurred in 1985, the Red Ribbon Week campaign promotes the reduction of illegal drugs, anti-drug programs and an awareness for youths on drugs. Today the National Red Ribbon Celebration is a nation-wide service and according to the DEA and National Family Partnership, about 80 million people participate in Red Ribbon events annually.
“It helps provide awareness and prevent drug use among the student body,” sophomore Shea Acevedo said.
This year Red Ribbon Week will take place Oct. 28 – 31. RRADD members chose spirit days to encourage students to dress up and show their support for drug safety and prevention. Here are the dates:
Monday, Oct. 27
No school
Tuesday, Oct. 28
“Drugs ‘r’ Trashy – Be Classy”
Dress in your finest with red accents.
Wednesday, Oct. 29
“Lei off Drugs”
Put on your best Hawaiian shirts and tropical gear.
Thursday, Oct. 30
“Wild & Drug Free”
Wear Animal Print for this dual day. It’s also “Tame the Tigers” for the football game against Stony Point.
Friday, Oct. 31
“Crazy Raider Day”
Dress in your favorite Raider gear and show your Drug Free Spirit.
