School garden going in Saturday, Oct. 4

For the past five years the ICAP department has been trying to create a garden on the campus grounds. With the help of sophomore Ryan Becker, this project will come to light Saturday, Oct. 4.

“It’s giving our kids something to be able to do, a job,” Debi Granado said. “And they all love gardening so we thought this is great to do.”

Granado recently received a $500 grant to help cover costs for the garden, which will be located in the grassy area between the main building and the Fine Arts building. Becker will install the garden for his Eagle Scout project.

Any students and faculty are encouraged to help build the garden, starting at 8 a.m. They should bring supplies like work gloves, shovels and rakes to help out.
