The buses are back.

Buses for afterschool tutorials started up this week and will run weekly on Tuesdays.

“Tutorial buses are for children who only have a ride to and from school through the bus system to get the extra assistance they may need,” assistant principal Brandon Evans said. “It gives them the ability to stay for clubs or homework help with a teacher for an extra hour.”

Students can attend tutorials with at teacher until 4:45 p.m. Students must have an orange tutorial pass from the teacher to ride the bus.

“I used the tutorial buses last year for extra time to work on math and social studies in Mrs. Swilling’s Quest Lab,” sophomore Beth Smith said. “My parents couldn’t always pick me up if I stayed late; being able to use the buses was easier.”

Tutorial buses will run every Tuesday through Dec. 9 during the first semester and from Jan. 13 – May 26 for the second semester.
