Too often I hear people complain about our school, from the facilities and the food, to the teachers and the dress code. It is never enough for the students of Rouse High School.

Of course this school has its flaws, but students’ expectations are too high. This is just a place of public education. A lot of schools do not have luxuries like sliding doors and snack bars. The last school I was at they did not even have a cafeteria; we ate outside every day, rain or snow.

Besides having nice facilities, this school is regarded as having the best teachers in the district. Our dress code is also more relaxed than the other schools in LISD.

There is a program, class and/or club out there for everyone. We have more options for electives and programs of study than we need. And let’s not forget, RHS is the only school in LISD that allows students who have all their credits to have off periods.

High school is not the best place to be. It is not the best of times, nor the worst of times. In the future you will have similar issues with your job, but that does not mean that you would quit that job and find another because the food reeks. There are always going to be things you do not like about your school no matter what place you attend. So appreciate what we have at this school.
