Two athletes placed at the state track meet at the University of Texas, May 9-10. Sophomore Madison Boreman placed fourth in the 3200 Meter Run and eighth in the 1600 Meter Run. This was Boreman’s second year to compete at state and being able to compete at the national level.

“I guess I was happy about getting to compete again,” Boreman said. “I guess I didn’t race my best. It was my ‘off’ day. I didn’t get to race my best and my time wasn’t even close to my best time. And it’s still not over; I have nationals.”

Sophomore Abby Lentz placed ninth place in the 400 Meter Dash and will also compete at the national level.

“I felt really lucky because a lot of girls wanted to go to nationals, but only nine were selected to be able to move up,” Lentz said. “And I was really happy with how everything went though. I get to go to nationals, and I feel honored.”
