After finishing 5-5 and fourth in district, the girls’ soccer team advanced to playoffs for the second year in a row.

“Overall, districts went really well,” senior Alyson Davis said. “We were better this year and we beat Vandy and Cedar Park for the first time ever.”

In the first round of playoffs Tuesday, March 25, the girls traveled to LBJ for the bi-district championship. They won 4-0 on the Jaguars’ home field, advancing to the second round.

“It was exciting,” Davis said. “I mean, because they were first in their district and we were fourth in ours. It felt really good to beat a first ranked team.”

The girls will play in the second round tonight against Georgetown Eastview at 6 p.m. at Bible Stadium.

“It’s a little nerve racking,” junior Samantha Lopez said. “We’ve never played them before so it’s scary. We’ll have to work extremely hard tonight.”
