Senior Updates
Attention seniors – graduation is quickly approaching. There’s a lot to get done and dates to remember, so here is a list of some basic things you need to know for the second semester.
February 25, 2014
FAFSA – Seniors and their parents need to fill out the Free Application Federal Student Aid form. Filing for FAFSA gives you opportunities for scholarships, student loans and government money for college. The deadline for each university or college is different, so be sure to check the RHS Senior page for a detailed FAFSA PowerPoint.
Cap and Gown – The deadline has already passed for the first order of cap and gowns, so any purchased now will have an additional $25 late fee added. Delivery will be on May 21-22 in the cafeteria during all the lunch periods. The form can be found online on the RHS Senior Page.
Senior Awards Ceremony – There will be an awards ceremony for outstanding seniors in academic programs on May 27 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. Be sure to bring your proud parents so you can celebrate your achievements.
Project Grad – Project Graduation is an all-night event that happens the night of graduation, June 6. It is a parent-chaperoned, drug-, alcohol- and smoke-free celebration for graduating seniors. The event is free and all graduating seniors may attend.
Graduation Practice – This is mandatory for all seniors who plan to walk the stage. There is only one practice, and that will be June 5 beginning at 9 a.m. in the RHS Competition Gym.
Graduation – Most importantly of all, senior graduation will be on June 6 at 7 p.m. at the Cedar Park Center. Family and friends will not need to purchase a ticket, but will pay $5 per car for parking.
