Staffer dislikes the new Black Friday traditions

Waking up at four in the morning to show up at your favorite store and wait in line for an hour just to get your discounted favorite pair of shoes was the reason I loved Black Friday. However, that fun holiday excitement has diminished throughout the years.

With stores opening each year earlier and earlier, they’ve gotten to the point where black Friday starts on the Thursday of Thanksgiving. How can you go Black Friday shopping on a Thursday? With their logistics completely skewed, Black Friday shopping just isn’t the same.

I’d much rather wake up early in the morning and shop all day rather than shop through the night and have no time to sleep. Unfortunately, stores advertise that the only option you have is to get no sleep if you want to grab the good deals and buy the products you actually want.

Every year you hear more insane stories of people pulling guns to get the last Xbox or innocent people dying because they were stampeded to death by the rush of crazy customers.  These deranged lunatics ruin the fun of this yearly tradition and make it almost not worth it to even participate anymore.

However, I did decide to go check out the nice sales they were having at a few places this year. And guess what? I went at nine in the morning and I still got the stuff that I wanted for a good price without having to wait in mile long lines. So that just goes to show that Black Friday doesn’t have to carry along all the craziness that people add to it.
