Students and parents no longer turn down County Road 271 to pull up to the school. As of Sept. 5, CR 271 has officially been renamed Raider Way.

“It’s important because it lets the people who live in or anywhere near the LISD boundaries know that Rouse exists,” Principal John Graham said.

The idea originated with students from the school’s first two graduating classes who wanted to leave a legacy behind.

“They petitioned the city of Leander for the name change while NHS helped organize it,” Graham said. “I’m proud of our students for working hard and not being discouraged. They’ve worked for two years and I’m proud of them.”

The new school address is 1222 Raider Way.
