Talk About It is a new online program where students can talk to teachers and staff members in a safe, private communication. On this website, students can get help with home and bullying problems or even report a bullying case if they see something going wrong.
“I think it provides students with a safe environment to be able to seek assistance if they feel threatened by a situation or another student,” senior Ashlee Bardin said.
Talk About It is anonymous so students don’t need to tell whoever they’re talking to who they are. Through the online service, students don’t need to worry about people finding out they told about bullying.
“It’s really cool how you can keep your identity secret while venting to people you know will listen,” sophomore Anona Underhill said.
Talk About It will be available during school hours only. On holidays, weekends and breaks, students will be able to post their troubles, but they will not get an answer until school is back in session. If the situation requires immediate attention, there is a list of numbers on the website that students can contact.
“I hope that students take advantage of it,” English II QUEST teacher Marguerite Swilling said. “I know a lot of adults on campus support the new program.”
