March 26th and 27th marked two fun filled days where many Rouse leaders got the opportunity to go on a leadership retreat near Lake Travis. RAP, RADD, student council, the top leaders in athletics, and other influential Rouse students got to experience a weekend at a camp in Spicewood, nicknamed “Camp Wannaleada” by the Rouse group. This trip was to teach leadership skills, get an input on activities, and to set a mission statement to stay bonded as a school.
“We learned to work together as a team, built friendships, and learned to become successful,” says Colton Green, a Rouse leader, “It was fun.”
During the retreat, the students and teachers got to do introductions, work together as a team on activities, experience a trip on a zip line, and make S’mores. The students broke up into teams to complete the activities and made mission statements as well. The numerous activities they participated in were named the Raider Olympics. Team “Motel 6” won the challenge and received an award.
This retreat was a major success and will hopefully become a Rouse tradition that many others will live up to.
