Joseph Amell and Abigail Junk have been together since Dec. 28, 2010. They met in sixth grade and became friends when they entered high school. When they met Amell was first struck by how pretty she was and Junk was attracted to Amell’s sense of humor.
“She’s just like me, she acts the same way I do,” Amell said. “We have so much in common. It’s like hanging out with another one of me, but way cooler and a girl.”
Over the last two years the couple shared innumerable kisses, but it all had to start somewhere. After Amell had asked Junk to be his girlfriend over the phone, as freshman has a tendency of doing, they soon shared their first kiss.
“We were at school,” Amell said. “I was walking her to the bus, but I had to stay after, and I was like sly as hell and I kissed her on the cheek.”
From then on the couple has gone on countless dates and spent hours together, but both parties agree that one stands above the rest. They once went on a picnic to a lake. Junk made turkey sandwiches and Amell made homemade individual pies, his was cherry and hers was blueberry.
“We were just chilling and being ourselves with no one else around.” Junk said. “Joe is one of my favorite people, and I love the outside so that was nice. He made me pie and I didn’t know he could do that.”
When two students spend so much time together tensions are bound to get high, and every couple have a different way of handling it.
“We don’t argue, we just get past things,” Junk said. “We just don’t fight, if we get angry we just don’t fight. We agree with each other.”
