Climbing, team building and trust. Creating memories and singing the campfire song by SpongeBob Squarepants.
Thirty students from different clubs attended Camp Wannaleada, Jan. 24-25. The annual leadership retreat gave the students a chance to participate in high ropes, zip lining and other team building challenges.
“The ropes course and jumping off of things were more memorable than taking the first step on camp ground,” senior Mitchell Reaves said.
Student Council sponsor Keli McCabe, who is also a leadership teacher, organizes the retreat that has become an annual tradition.
“I want them to look back and say this is the camp that made me the person I am today,” McCabe said. “Even when they graduate, I want them to remember the name: camp Wannaleada.”
