I’m pretty pleased with how we did at regions,” Alspaugh said. “I finally dropped time in an event that I haven’t gone anywhere close to in two years. I’m really proud of Jyna Leckbee winning the 100 Breaststroke and automatically qualifying for state.”
Leckbee placed first in the 100 yard Breaststroke setting a region record of 1:06.40 and placed fifth in the 50 Freestyle.
“I did amazing,” Leckbee said. “They were both really tight races, but it was a lot of fun.”
The girls 200 yard Medley Relay placed fourth and the girls 400 yard Freestyle Relay placed sixth with Alspaugh, Leckbee, Timmons and junior Sarah Calderon swimming in both relays. The Medley Relay was called up and will get to compete at state, Feb. 22-23 at The University of Texas.
