Student Council is bringing the spirit of giving this holiday season by organizing a toy drive for “Toys for Tots.” They will be collecting toys through seventh period classes, Dec. 5-13. The toys will be collected by “Santa’s elves on the 13th. There is a pizza party for the class who donates the most toys.

“Giving back to your community is an important part of leadership,” Student Council sponsor Keli McCabe said. “The entire Rouse community is good at giving back. A lot of students have been taught since they were very young to give back.”

In order to promote this toy drive, there were free pictures with Santa on Dec. 5 during lunch. Students who wanted to get their picture taken with Santa could bring a camera or a cell phone to take the photo with.

“It will bring attention to what we’re doing with the toy drive,” McCabe said. “It will help get everybody into the holiday spirit.”
