Five theatre students qualified for nationals after competing at The Texas Thespian Convention in Houston the first weekend of December.  More than 3000 students competed at the convention, with five of the nine theatre students advancing.

Amanda Malan qualified in the Stage Management contest and Brianna Rood, Adryelle Villamizar, Austin Thompson and Aaron Sturk qualified in the Group Scene competition. 

“When everything clicks into place and everyone is in sync you seem to anticipate the win,” senior Brianna Rood said.  “What’s better than putting together all the pieces of the puzzle and coming out with a masterpiece?”

Among the college auditioners, Joshua Pagan received 14 call backs and Brandy Giordano and Amanda Malan received nine call backs from interested schools.
