Marissa: Not really, I was more excited about being with friends and family, who came in from Kansas.

What other extracurricular activities do you do?

Josh: Football, NHS, DI, Spanish Honor Society

Marissa: Soccer, Track, senior class president, broadcast, FCA, NHS

What’s something quirky about the other?

Josh: She has a strange addiction to Dance Moms.

Marissa: Josh has eaten four McDoubles in a row before.

Did you expect to win?

Josh: Not really. I would’ve been okay with whoever won. Everyone was really friendly.

Marissa: No, I had no idea.

What was it like without Josh on the field during the ceremony?

Josh: I was kind of focused on other things at the time, but it was really cool to have won. I was more excited for Marissa at the time.

Marissa: It would’ve been cool to have Josh on the field but I understand that he had more important things, especially because he’s one of the [football] captains. It was okay though because his dad and I are good friends.

How did you feel at the dance?

Josh: It was pretty exciting, everyone was saying congratulations and stuff.

Marissa: It was kind of strange being in the middle of a circle of people with all their eyes on us. But it was really nice and I had a lot of fun.
