Cafeteria Food Reviews

Corn dog and French Fries
Considering its kind of difficult to mess up fast food, the Ballpark Classics line is my favorite in the cafeteria.  Corn dogs are good no matter how you cook them, but the fries aren’t my favorite.  They’re kind of mushy and powdery, like they’re not really made of potatoes. –Kristina Jingling

Sandwich
The cafeteria sandwich. The cheese was like the classic Kraft singles that everyone loves and the ham tasted just like normal lunch meat. The bread was a little stale and the veggies were tasteless, unripe and kind of gross. I had to smother it in ranch dressing just to add some taste. –Nick Hage

Salad
The salad this year is about 10 times better than last year’s. It’s a lot fresher and crunchier and I love the dressings. If I could change just one thing, I would prefer if some ingredients were on the side; for instance, they mix in shredded cheese. I am not a fan of cheese at all, and I imagine other people would prefer items like olives, tomatoes and bell peppers on the side as well. Overall, I loved this salad, it was tasty and colorful. –Kayla Peterson

Orange Chicken with Rice
The orange chicken from the Red Dragon was disgusting. This supposed orange chicken was just little chicken nuggets drenched in a too sweet orange sauce. The chicken nuggets were so small, there was no way I got a fully portioned meal. On top of it, the chicken nuggets were soggy from being in the sauce for so long. The rice tasted just like it looked, like ground up shrimp. It wasn’t at all appetizing looking and the taste wasn’t any better. I’d recommend skipping this drenched dish and go for the stir fry.  –Kristin Nicol

Pizza
When I first bought the pizza from the snack line, I was a bit skeptical about eating it. Its red pepperoni looked appetizing at first, until I saw the huge amounts of grease sitting in them. Then, I looked a bit closer and noticed how old the cheese looked. Biting into it was like biting into a huge oval chunk of cardboard. The only taste I really got was hard cheese and grease. From now on, I’ll stick to the pizza slices in Luigi’s line.  –Bridget O’Malley
