Three soccer players to play at college level

As the alpha class graduates, some athletes have the opportunity to continue to the next level in their sport.  Senior Elyse Demar was one of the few.

“I’m going to Cisco and I am super excited about their good soccer program and their coach,” Demar said. “But I’m also nervous because they are really good and I don’t know if I can live up to that.”

Along with Demar, seniors Michael Cole and Kristen Mazur are receiving soccer scholarships. Cole will be going to Fort Hays State University in Kansas, and Mazur will be attending Southwestern University in Georgetown.

“I have a couple of friends going there and the scholarship offer really made the decision easy,” Cole said. “It’s weird because I never thought that soccer would have given me a future.”
