Sixteen students were inducted into the Spanish National Honor Society in the Lecture Hall, April 3. Students were chosen based on their average in Spanish and had to be in the second semester of Spanish II or higher.
“Overall, it went really well,” Spanish National Honor Society Judy Sandoval sponsor said. “They got inducted and that’s the important thing.”
At the induction, students were called forward to light their candle from the mother candle, which represents life and learning. They are then presented as a new member, and shake principal John Graham’s hand. They also recorded their name in the member book as a part of Spanish National Honor Society and received a certificate to represent their induction.
“It made me feel like I had accomplished something to be proud of,” sophomore and recent inductee Kali Rose said. “It made me realize that the hard work I did paid off.”
