The Hunger Games is one movie that you will want to see again and again. Jennifer Lawrence plays 16-year old Katniss Everdeen, a citizen of District 12, a starving society controlled by the brutal Capitol of Panem. Every year, a “Hunger Games” is held. The games are a deadly battle for teenagers, fighting to the death. Katniss bravely takes the place of her sister and becomes a tribute for her district. The battles are fast paced and broadcasted live, providing a cruel form of entertainment for the citizens. The film features teens dying in fairly harsh ways, so this film may not be a good choice for younger ages. The battle scene at the beginning, when Katniss has to fight for her backpack of survival gear is intense and gets you ready to get into the movie. The characters are likeable, but try not to get too attached, because only one comes out alive. Jennifer Lawrence portrays the character of Katniss well, and is very believable. Overall, The Hunger Games is a great film that features a good cast and heart pumping battle scenes. This is one film that I would recommend seeing.
