Art club paints murals for community

The Art Club is spreading their talent throughout both the school and the community. The softball field has a seven foot tall mural, and there will also be one at Lakeline Mall that is six feet tall.

“I’m really excited for the ideas we’re coming up with for the Lakeline one,” senior Ashten Smith said. “We’re basically given free reign for the wall, and since we have that much space for any idea, it’s going to be interesting.”

The 20 students in the Art Club work on the softball mural when they meet on Mondays, along with a few additional workdays. The mural is black and white, and has the school logo on a softball and the words “Rouse Softball” around it. Work on the Lakeline mural will begin sometime in March, and more murals for the school are on the horizon.

“There are more upcoming murals around campus, up front by the entrance and by the cafeteria,” Art club sponsor Brittany Acosta said. “This is how Art Club is bettering our school.”
