The varsity boys basketball team will compete in their first playoff game Tuesday, Feb. 21 against McCallum at the Delco Center.
“When I found out about varsity going to playoffs, I was really excited and proud of all the players,” head coach Shane Krause said.
The team finished 9-3 in district, taking second place. Lake Travis won the district championship.
“Our biggest triumphs of the year were taking second in district and the team chemistry,” Krause said. “All of the players have worked really hard this year.”
This was the first season for the team to make playoffs and the first year with seniors.
“Having seniors on the team this year gave us an extra edge that we have been missing for the past years,” senior TJ Washburn said.
The team will play McCallum, a Round Rock ISD school, at 7:30 p.m. Students can ride a spirit bus to the Delco Center for $2. Students should pick up a permission slip from the front office.
“I’m looking forward to the fans being there,” senior Matt Martinez said. “I’m definitely looking forward to winning.”
