A host of activities related to college and career readiness will occur Nov. 7-11 as part of Generation TX, a grassroots movement to encourage college enrollment.
Each day during announcements, names of students who been accepted to college will be read and facts about different colleges will be given.
On Monday, students and faculty are encouraged to wear their favorite university for College T-shirt and Jeans Day. On Tuesday and Thursday, college fight songs will be played during passing periods. During advocate classes Wednesday, advocate teachers will share their college experiences with their classes.
“This is the first senior class to set an example of college going students,” counselor Terry Hinson said. “We hope it will motivate other students to follow their footsteps and pursue post-secondary education.”
