The junior varsity tennis team took first place at the Pflugerville tennis tournament, Thursday Oct. 26. This is the second consecutive year that they have won this tournament.
“We did tremendous, much better than I thought we would ever do,” coach Michael Hjort said, “I went into the tournament with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised.”
In doubles, Scott Jellison and Mason Rutledge took first in A Doubles Main Draw while Sean Carnett and Jerrod Schonfeld were first in B Doubles Main Draw. In singles, Adrian Montes was second in Place B Singles Main Draw, Danielle Brown with second in the Main Draw and Kaha’i Rhody won the Consolation Draw.
“I was so shocked and ecstatic the whole time,” Rutledge said, “I feel like we deserved to win.”
