Auditions for the musical Little Shop of Horrors will be Oct. 26-27.
“For auditions, I would just recommend relaxing and realizing you have nothing to lose,” Theatre director Stephanie Smith said. “Talk to people who’ve done it before, they can help you.”
Students wishing to be in the chorus will audition Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 4 p.m. Students must perform the school fight song. Students auditioning for lead roles will audition Thursday, Oct. 27 at 4 p.m. For lead roles, students must audition with material provided on the choir website.
Little Shop of Horrors will be a large show with many students involved, and auditioning is the equivalent of making a commitment to the show. If you receive a part you are expected to accept the role and the benefits of it.
“It doesn’t feel like an obligation because you look forward to rehearsals and the show,” Technical Theatre director Jennifer Bussear said. “[It’s about] being a part of something that has meaning to the community and school, becoming a part of a family, getting to feel the overwhelming success when it’s all said and done. And your parents will take you to Chili’s afterward.”
