Club Spotlight: Ultimate Frisbee

What is Ultimate Frisbee? Ultimate frisbee is a non-contact team sport similar to a cross between football and basketball, except they use a frisbee instead of a ball.

How many member are there? There are about 15 regular members, though they are always open to more.

When does Ultimate Frisbee meet? Practices are on Wednesdays after school behind the science building.

What are you hoping to accomplish with your participation in Ultimate Frisbee? “We want to introduce students to a potentially unfamiliar sport, and to create a sense of pride in teamwork. Many Ultimate players do not come from athletic backgrounds, and very few have ever played Ultimate Frisbee before, so it is a great place to try something new.” -sponsor Amanda Powell

What are some upcoming events? Austin Youth Ultimate League’s Spring Tournament throughout April, Saturdays from 12 to 3 p.m. at East Metro Park in Manor
