Time is something no one ever really has enough of. Time is short, no matter how long it may seem. A day can go by so quickly it almost doesn’t feel like 24 hours. A night feels like a few minutes. Years feel like a few months. Sometimes this is helpful, like when you’re waiting for something exciting, but other times it can be a terrible hindrance to your life.
I know I have problems with time. I’m in band so most of my time is taken by that act alone, but then I have school and a boyfriend to split extra time with. Plus, I have to see friends to keep myself socially active so I don’t get too bored or absorbed into a book for too long.
Time shortage makes life difficult. It’s just a fact. When you think you have three weeks to do a project or read a book, it turns into two weeks, then one week and finally you’re sitting there a week before its due trying to chop up individual parts of the project and get it done quickly. This could partially be caused by procrastination, but really procrastination is caused by the illusion of time. You think you have this long to do it, so you take your time and it ends up to be not enough time.
Time also has ways of alluding us in life by making us think something will take years and you don’t have to worry about the outcome of high school or something until the end is here; which, people tell you, will be a long time. But of course time does what it wants and you end up having to decide where you want to go to college and you end up having to say goodbye to people, so much sooner than you previously thought.
Time always finds a way to get away from me and surprise me to no end. As it does to the rest of the unsuspecting world of people who still think time is ever lasting. Time really is fleeting and you have to cherish every second you are given. Don’t let time trick you into thinking you have a lot of it.
