Special Olympics
Juniors Harry and Brent Schaefer won a bronze medal recently at the Unified Special Olympics Area Bowling Contest. Other Rouse athletes who participated included Gillian Corona, Justeen Sullivan, Shelby Fuller, Madison Turquette, Hayden Bruce, Cameron Elner, Tyler Latiolas, Meagan Anderson and Amara Smallwood.

Hospitality
Sean Nguyen-Leetien, Nicholas Marullo, Avery Strait, Hailey Stillwell and Danielle Vasquez passed the National ServSafe Certification test. Servsafe is a food and beverage safety and sanitation training program administered by the National Restaurant Association. Students were required to score a 75 or higher on the test.

Band
Seniors Sammy Copeland and Karlie Calderon were invited to participate in the US Army All American Marching Band in January.

Theatre
Theatre took first and second place in group scenes at the Texas Renaissance Festival contest, Performing Arts Contest. Placing first with Midsummer Night’s Dream were Holly Ainsworth, Andrew DeLaGarza, Wyatt Williamson, Mackenzie Barger, Zac Criffield and Grant Haden. Finishing in second with Much Ado About Nothing were Diego Garcia, Sydney Norris, Chloe Nichols, Max Cannon, Niko Berma and Gabriella Trevino-Bandy.

Newspaper
Raider Rumbler recently received another national award nomination for the Columbia Scholastic Press Association’s Crown Award.
