Don’t want to be bored this summer? Here are some suggestions to ensure this summer isn’t a total waste.

Walk around on Sixth Street, South Congress or the Domain. There are plenty of cool shops to walk around and it doesn’t cost a penny to window shop.
Keep cool by heading to the neighborhood or a friend’s backyard pool. Invite friends, tan, splash around, or play Marco Polo. Floaties and noodles equal more splashes and a fun time. Have everyone chi in for the snacks and drinks. But whatever you do, don’t forget the sunglasses.
Grab a group of friends and hit a nearby bowling alley for a striking good time. Mel’s Lone Star Lanes and Highland Lanes offer multiple lanes, those funky rental shoes and a chance to granny bowl or whip down the lane for a strike.
Have too much loose change to know what to do with? Go to Pinballz Arcade, a retro arcade across from Lakeline Mall. With games from the ’80s to the present, you get down with pinball, Pac-Man or skee ball.
Go to a roller rink and get your skates on. Chase each other around the rink while trying to keep your balance. Playland Skate Center in north Austin is just south of the Domain, which isn’t too far for CPL residents. The $6 covers your skate rental and time on the floor.
Jump around on an endless landscape of trampolines at Jumpstreet near Lakeline Mall. Bounce, flip somersaults, cartwheels or back handsprings onto their indoor trampolines. From $12-14, you can bounce to your heart’s content.
Mix all the fun together by heading to Main Event, where you can bowl, rock climb, play laser tag, miniature golf and video games, all at one location. They offer a $9.95 special on Monday nights and lots of packages to mix and match your adventure.
