June 6, 2016
Leander Middle School principal Christine Simpson was named the new principal at Rouse High School, Monday, June 6. Superintendent Bret Champion made the announcement to the staff at a faculty meeting Monday morning in the library.
“I am so excited to serve you,” Simpson said. “This is going to be an incredible journey for all of us.”
Simpson is replacing John Graham, who served as Rouse’s principal since 2010 and is the district’s new Senior Executive Director of School Improvement.
Simpson was the principal at Leander Middle School for four years, and an assistant principal at Leander High School before that. Simpson joined LISD in 2009 and taught English at the middle school and high school levels until becoming an assistant principal. Simpson is married to Chris Simpson, who is the Wiley Middle School principal and was an assistant principal at Rouse during the 2014-15 school year.
“It’s just a pleasure to be here,” Simpson said. “I’ve been a fan of Rouse High School for such a long time. You have a great school, you have a great culture.”
