Turtles and toddlers

Student recalls aggressive behavior leads to pet’s demise

Okay, don’t get me wrong, toddlers are cool and all. They’re fun loving, happy (evil) rugrats. They’re obnoxious, which is definitely a downfall. It was cute at first but after awhile it gets irritating.

But it doesn’t stop with us humans. Toddlers have a tendency to hit it off with the family dog or cat and not exactly in a good way. They are indeed harmful to pets. Personally, I think, they should be put under the “Keep away from animal” category. Hitting, punching, slapping, riding, mauling, jumping on, suffocating, etc. isn’t playful with the cute and cuddly pet.

When I was a toddler, maybe around three years old, I had a pet turtle. I don’t remember if we bought him or found him out in the wild, but he was my favorite little guy ever. I believe, I named him Jim but I don’t know, I was pretty young.

Anyhow, I decide it would be a grand idea to bring him out on our apartment’s back balcony and play with him there, and when I say play I actually mean torture him. So after a while I suppose I became bored and just decided it’d be an even better idea to push him off the second story balcony. Simply because I was an evil little brat toddler.

After, I realized that turtles shells aren’t really all that invisible as TNMT makes it seem. I started crying and whining that my turtle just jumped off the balcony. To this day, I will never forgive myself for doing what I did that day, but now I know Jim is in a better place and at least I wasn’t the only animal abusive toddler.
