Although the parking lot is a crowded area to drive around, nobody should resist the awesome, fresh tacos from the cool Tex-Mex joint, Torchy’s. The Austin-based restaurant has a casual vibe for customers and the people who work there are chill and always look content to be there.

Their menu includes clever names for their signature eclectic taco creations, like the The Independent, Mr. Pink and Crossroads. Torchy’s also offers a Texas mandatory menu item: breakfast tacos. Tacos are smallish, inexpensive and come jam-packed with meat and toppings. The fountain drinks are from a company called Main Root, a healthier option than traditional sodas, which is sweetened with cane sugar, not fructose corn syrup.

I ordered two Trailer Park tacos, which is a taco stuffed with fried chicken, green chilies, lettuce, pico de gall, and cheese. Since I got it “trashy,” I added a nice portion of queso to each taco. When I put the crispy, cheesy taco in my mouth it tasted like heaven and it just makes me want to order more of them. I think many people will enjoy eating at this restaurant because it’s a local favorite to be around, that sends out a good vibe, and as they say on their logo, it’s “Damn Good!”
