Dear Leander ISD Family, Friends & Colleagues,

I wanted you to know that today I have been named Klein ISD’s lone finalist for their superintendent of schools.  Klein ISD is a fast-growth community in Northwest Harris County with 50,000 students, and I’ll start there as superintendent in July of this year.

The decision to leave Leander ISD was the most difficult professional decision I’ve ever had to make.  This is Marcee’s and my home, the place our boys were educated, and a spot where we have made deep friendships.  With both boys in college now, when the unique opportunity to lead Klein ISD opened up, we decided to start a new adventure!

Leander ISD, of course, will be fine…great, even!  This district isn’t about me, but about the wonderful system we all have created over the years.  We are blessed with a strong and student-focused Board, astounding staff, dedicated parents and a wonderful community.  And our students never cease to amaze!  All of these things are staying in place!  Collectively, we have worked to make Leander ISD a leader among school districts in the state of Texas, a place where we are proud to say we learn, teach and grow together.  I’m confident Leander ISD will continue to lead students to a bright future.

Thank you for all you have done and continue to do for students.  I will miss you all deeply.

Gratefully,
Bret
