The One-Act Play cast won four individual awards and was named the alternate cast at the zone competition, March 30.

“I’m thrilled that we were recognized,” Director Stephanie Smith said. “It’s not about an award to me, it’s about telling a powerful story well, and I’m proud of our students for doing just that.”

John Weldon and Christina Gatti were named to the Honorable Mention All-Star Cast, James Monreal made the All-Star Cast list and Sophia Schwab was honored as Best Actress.

“I was extremely happy and thankful,” Schwab said. “I could never have done it without the help of my directors.”

Sixteen actors and four crew members practiced for two months to put on the play “To Kill a Mockingbird.”

“In my mind we were better than any award,” Smith said.“Because of the student’s hard work and passion in their performance.”
