In honor of Valentine’s Day, here are some fun, cheap suggestions for upcoming dates.

Stargaze – While it’s really cliché, it’s an adorable date for you and your plus one all for the price of nothing.

Geocaching – First, download the app on your phone. Second, start searching. Geocaching is a fun way to experience an area for free, with small items you can find along the way. Whether its downtown at the murals, or in your own neighborhood, geocaching is a free way to explore with your other half. It’s a free way to explore with your sweetheart.

Visit the Austin 360 bridge — Go on a little hike up to the hill to catch a magnificent view of the Pennybacker Bridge and the city of Austin. And better yet, it’s also free.

Ice Skating – Go to Chaparral Ice with your Valentine and watch them struggle if it’s their first time. All the entertainment for a pretty cheap price, at $6 for admission and $4 for skate rental.

Scavenger Hunt – Organize a scavenger hunt leading to one of their favorite things or a fancy dinner. Price is dependent on what you do, and how extravagant it is.

Get ice cream – Only in Texas would be in the ‘60s and ‘70s in February. Take advantage of the great weather and grab some Amy’s Ice Cream.

Create art together – Head over to Hope Outdoor Gallery, more commonly known as Graffiti Park, and work together to create a masterpiece of your love in spray paint.

Bowling – Go attempt to bowl, and don’t be ashamed if you have to use bumpers. Main Event is offering $5 bowling Sunday through Thursdays, through Feb. 25. At Mel’s Lonestar Lanes, it costs $22 an hour per lane, with a $3.50 fee for shoes.

Go to the drive-in – Enjoy movies the old fashioned way by going to a drive-in theater. The Blue Starlite in downtown Austin is the perfect place to pull up into a drive-in movie theater and enjoy older movies. General admission is $5 and if you’re coming with only lawn chairs. If you have a car, add a car for $15-30 and listen to the movie through the radio.
