It’s interesting how much music can impact you.
Sometimes the lyrics hit you really hard, depending on what’s going on in your life. It’s times like these that certain songs just speak to you in a way that nothing else can. It can take all those emotions bottled up inside you and somehow put them into words to express exactly what you’re feeling. There’s something about the music behind the words that just deepens the meaning even more.
Regardless of what kind of music you like, sad or slow music always seems to help soothe a troubled heart. Songs like “Jar of Hearts” by Christina Perri or “Almost Lover” by A Fine Frenzy help put my emotions into words.
Music is my whole life. It sums up who I am, it expresses what I’m feeling when I’m lost for words. It helps me process things, and inspires me to be the best person that I can be.
Music has always helped me through everything, both the happy times and the hard times. There’s something about the combination of lyrics and instruments that helps me get my emotions in order.
My love for music grew even more when I learned to play the guitar. One day, I just decided to sit down and teach myself. Three hours and lots of Googling later, I was mildly able to play. Although nothing I played sounded even remotely like it was supposed to, I loved playing it. The songs I was playing became even more real and intense to me; the kind of electricity I felt through strumming the guitar, through singing along with it was overpowering. I can’t compare it to anything but the feeling you get when you hear a song that you connect with so well it gives you chills. It’s an intense moment that makes a permanent impact on you.
Whether it’s lifting you up in or consoling you in moments of sadness, music is one of the best remedies that there is.
