Ice, Ice Baby

Wedding Cake
I choose a baby-sized wedding cake that was completely white and to be honest, not very exciting looking. However, I really enjoyed the cakey sweet flavoring and the smooth texture. The fact that it was as smooth as powdered snow made me fall in love. Unfortunately, due to the sugary taste, about three-fourths the way in, I was ready to throw it away. –Jordan Buie

Strawberry Cheesecake
Bahama Bucks has the best snow cones I have ever tasted. No watered-down, carnival snow cones here. The taste of the Strawberry Cheesecake was so rich and potent. With every bite, you can’t help feel like you’re in a small café overlooking Union Park. The ice was so shaved down, it felt like ice cream. However, there is a sugar overdose. I had to finish it after a bite of real food to lose the ache in my belly. All in all, very delightful. –Nalani Nuylan

Lemon-Lime
I chose a regular sized Lemon-Lime, it was almost a perfect snow cone, half lemon and half lime. I enjoyed the sweet citrus flavor. With both the flavor and the texture of it, I felt like I was in Florida. Unfortunately, the middle of the snow cone didn’t have any syrup so I was eating plain ice. –Morgan Spring

Birthday Cake
The Bahama Bucks Birthday Cake snow cone not only looked marvelous with the array of colorful sprinkles and syrup, but it also tasted amazing. The sprinkles looked like glitter on top of the white “cake batter.” At first I expected it to taste very weighed down in syrup and lacking the vanilla-cake flavor, but I was pleasantly surprised when I tasted an even ratio of syrup and cake flavors. I definitely recommend. –Destiny De La Paz

Mocha Java
Let me begin with the terrible decision I made with choosing the flavor that I did. Mocha Java, a coffee that I’ve only tried in jelly bean form, is not a bad flavor. Don’t get me wrong – both mocha java and snow cones are great. Problem is that a coffee flavor should definitely not be coating ice. It had an odd taste. –Michelle Contreras

Red Raider/ Sun Devil
The Red Raider also known as the Sun Devil, was strange. The taste was like a cinnamon cherry and reminded me of a hot tamale. Although the ice itself was a cloud-like substance that simple just melted away, the flavor didn’t seem to catch my taste buds. –Leah Lopez

Peach
If you love sweet things and need something frosty to cool you down, then Bahama Bucks is a place you are going to need to visit. Bahama Bucks is well known for their spectacular snow cones and 70 plus flavors. With so many choices it’s hard to choose, but I finally decided I wanted something really sweet, so I chose peach. I definitely did not regret it, most peach flavored foods are have a super overpowering taste, but this particular snow cone actually tastes like a peach. Another thing I loved is the consistency, unlike most snow cones that could match up as hard blocks of ice, this shaved ice is almost creamy. Bahama Bucks truly lives up to its slogan ‘Taste of paradise’ I know I’ll be back. – Emily Rowe
